Kaia Lisa

Rakaia Lisa Fokkena is a Berlin-based multimedia producer. She holds an M.A. in Visual and Media Anthropology from Freie Universität Berlin and a B.A. with an individual concentration in Global Social Change from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Her research interests include postcolonial and queer theory, reflected in her M.A. thesis on Berlin's drag counterpublic. She has over a decade of experience in non-profit and academic sectors, focusing on social services for homeless and at-risk youth as well as migrant empowerment in the U.S. and Germany. In addition to her work in sociocultural research and media production, she also freelances in web administration and front-end development, serving diverse clients including non-profit organizations, PR agencies, academic publishers and educational institutions.
